Ryokōya for iPhone · One developer, real replies

Email support@ryokoya.app and you will hear back from the person who wrote the app. Telling me your iPhone model, your iOS version and roughly when the problem happened saves us both a round trip.

Tracking

My trip didn't record anything, or missed places

Almost always location permission. Ryokōya needs Always, not "While Using the App" — otherwise iOS stops it the moment your screen goes dark, which is exactly when you are walking.

It named a place wrongly

Tap the stop in your trip and correct it. Ryokōya remembers the correction and will use your name for that spot in future — your version wins.

Battery

Ryokōya adapts how hard it looks for you: once you have settled somewhere it backs right off, and motion rather than GPS is what wakes it up again. A full day of walking should cost noticeably less than a navigation app running the whole time. If you see something dramatically worse, please write in — with the log, if you can (below).

Sending a diagnostic log

Settings → Export Log and share it however you like. Worth knowing before you send: logs contain a detailed record of where you were. Nothing uploads on its own — the app has no way to send them without you — and you are welcome to read one first.

Purchases

I paid but nothing unlocked

Settings → Restore Purchases, while signed into the same Apple ID you bought with. Purchases are held by Apple, so they survive reinstalls and new phones.

Cancelling Pro

iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Ryokōya. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps the time you have already paid for. Trip Pass never renews — it just ends.

Refunds

Apple handles all refunds through reportaproblem.apple.com. I cannot issue them, but if something is broken, tell me and I will fix it.

Backup and your data

Moving to a new iPhone

Turn on Trip Vault backup on the old phone, sign in with the same Apple ID on the new one, and your trips come back. Backup uses your own iCloud storage.

Deleting everything

Settings → Delete Account erases your iCloud backup first, then everything on the device. If your iCloud cannot be reached, the deletion stops and nothing is removed — you should never be told your data is gone while a copy still exists.

Printed books

Ordering a printed book in the app is coming later — for now a trip exports as a PDF you can print anywhere. When it arrives, trip books are printed and shipped by a print partner. For anything about an order, payment or delivery, contact them — but if the book itself came out wrong (a missing page, a bad map, something ugly), that is mine to fix and I want to hear about it.

Something else

Feature ideas, a city you want curated, a place in a pack that has closed, or a pack you think is wrong: all genuinely welcome at support@ryokoya.app. Closures and corrections get folded into the next content sweep.
